Je hebt de Beaujolais Primeur, de Hollandse Nieuwe, de eerste asperges... en je hebt: Darjeeling First Flush, de eerste voorjaarsthee uit het befaamde Darjeeling theegebied in India, liefdevol verbouwd op de hellingen van de Himalaya, door theeliefhebbers in de hele wereld hoogst gewaardeerd en geroemd.

Onze keuze is dit jaar gevallen op een hele mooie, biologisch verbouwde DJ1 uit één van de oudste en kleinste theetuinen van India: Steinthal. Tussen de 1.100 en 2.000 m hoogte wordt hier de mooiste thee verbouwd.

De 2024-1 SFTGFOP1 Organic Steinthal DJ1. Een hele mond vol: Super Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pecco, hoe langer de afkorting, hoe beter de thee! En een DJ1, voor zover u het nog niet wist, is echt de allerallerallereerste pluk in het korte First Flush seizoen.

De thee heeft een prachtige ambachtelijke uitstraling, mooi tippy, is heerlijk geurig en geeft een rijke volle smaak, een tikkeltje notig, met het licht-pittige karakter zo kenmerkend voor een Darjeeling First Flush.

(Nog even over de prijs... met 75 gram zet u ongeveer 15 liter van deze godendrank. Dat is €1,61 per liter ... koop daar maar eens een goed vruchtensapje of een flesje wijn voor! Sterkte met de beslissing, maar wacht niet te lang, de voorraad is zoals altijd beperkt!)
